Swemed, acquired by Vitrolife in 2006, is now the brand name for Vitrolife´s range of instruments for ART. The first transvaginal ultrasound guided follicle aspiration needles were designed by Swemed together with Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Sweden. This development was a ground breaking advance in both gynaecology and ART procedures.
